Good progress is clearly being made by all players in the under 12 team.
Our trip to play Bonymaen in Parc Mawr was a true thriller in every sense, Bonymaen took an early lead though turnovers worked in our favour and we soon hit back with some great pace and a try from Kian W. The tide turned in our favour and there soon followed excellent tries for both Josh and Ethan, Ethan converting his own try. Bonymaen hit back with another try but we went in with a half time lead 10 points to 17.
The second half did not ease the blood pressure of the coaches and parents. Gowerton continued to pile on the pressure and at times the game was reminiscent of Wales v Australia, with Gowerton piling the pressure on the Bonymaen try line for quite some time. The Bonymaen defence was resolute though and managed to hold us out. Several turnovers at key moments and the ability to get the ball to pacey runners saw Bonymaen score three tries in the second half. Gowerton piled more pressure on the Bonymean line again and this was rewarded with a try from Sam W to end the match.
Final score Bonymaen 25 - Gowerton 22.
A huge improvemnet in play. We still have areas of our game to work on, though with this attitude and momentum the team is developing well.
Well done young starch!
