OUTPLAYED IN EVERY DEPARTMENT

We took on Llandeilo U15's for the second time in a few weeks and after a tight match away we knew it was going to be another tricky game especially with the injury list we had.  On a dry morning the conditions were perfect for a good open game of rugby, and that's exactly what the visitors gave us.  They started like a train and scored a fine try by their winger after just 2 minutes play.  They looked keen to play 15 man rugby and from the reulting restart ran the ball back at us with ease.  Some poor tackling let them in for their second try after just 5 minutes, which was converted too to make it 0-12.  It went from bad to worse as the resulting kick off saw Llandeilo create a superb passing movement which saw their lively scrum half go under the post for a simple yet stunning try. The conversion was successful and the score 0-19 after just 6 minutes.  The boys looked shell shocked.  We started to stem the flow and tried to play some rugby but Llandeilo's defence held firm.  On 18 minutes in an attacking position, No. 10 Alex Hughes attempted a kick over the defensive line, only for it to be charged down , collected and run in for a try.  Conversion missed 0-24.  On the stroke of halftime, Llandeilo had a penalty in our 22 and a quick tap sow them run through some weak tackling to score under the posts.  The conversion was good and they led 0-31 at halftime.

After some stern words by the coaching staff the second half restarted and the play was a lot tighter.  Eventually after 10 minutes play we put some nice moves together which resulted in winger Ieuan Sleeman crossing over for a try in the corner.  The conversion was missed 5-31.  Was a comeback on the cards???  It wasn't looking that way as Llandeilo kept pressing and the offloading in tackles was creating problems for us.  After 20 minutes they scored their 6th try of the game through a pickup close to the line saw one of their forwards drive over.  Conversion missed 5-36.  We kept on battling and were rewarded with a fine solo effort for Alex Hughes who never gave up on his battle to score a try, going through several tackles to score in the corner.  The conversion again was missed 10-36.  Deservedly it was Llandeilo who had the final say with a lineout close to our line they took a clean ball and the resulting maul was pushed over for a try.  Conversion missed and the referee blew for full time. 10-41.  A very disappointing performance by us but full crdit to Llandeilo who at times looked a fantastic outfit.  A few weeks to go to our Ospreys Cup Semi Final, hopefully key players back from injury and an improvement neded if we are to get to the Final.
